What Is Suffering’s Call?
Suffering. Is it the relentless claw that rends the flesh of those who choose to exist? Is it a burden, a curse, a whimpering fate whose only purpose is to break one’s core? Or is it the chisel that shapes a man to be more man?
Either way, suffering feels like a cruel master. The purpose is undefined, and the consequences often unbearable.
For those who can’t bear it, seems to us than nothing but a coward’s lullaby. Those who wrestle with it often drown. But some grow gills.
What Drives Our Torment?
A person, whom I thought of as my own blood, whom now I hate dearly, once said, “Lord gives only the amount of suffering one can endure.”
I studied Nietzsche quite a lot compared to my studies of other philosophers. He had a bold, unapologetic, and quite aggressive approach to philosophy. More on that in future writings.
Suffering, to Nietzsche, is the crucible of becoming. It is not merely pain, but the fire that tempers the will. Through suffering, the soul is carved, sharpened, and made worthy of greatness. Without it, man remains soft, untested, and unworthy of transcendence. It is the price of meaning, the shadow of depth.
What is this beast called “Suffering”, and what drives it? I say it is the hunger of the self, the soul wanting to break free or to be broken. This is the fire, we are the anvil, suffering is the hammer that forges, is the heartless sculptor.
How Suffering Forges The Mighty?
The path suffering carve is not to torment one to death. It can unleash the beast within and gain freedom filling the ever longing desire. Here’s how it can shape someone:
Fire Burns, Then Builds: Suffering is not meant to be tamed from the get-go. Even the mightiest who ever lived will agree. The fire of suffering burns the heart, then rebuilds it.
Weakness Fears, Strength Feeds: Not everybody is meant to be the superman even if it’s the one thing that they crave since their childhood. Through suffering it gets clear who passes and who fails.
Scars Mark the Victor: He who is the victor needs no roars. The flame is felt immediately. The fire that brunt, the flame that still burns.
The Cold Stare Back To The Abyss: How thrilling it is to finally stare back at the abyss that taunted you for your lifetime? Doesn’t that make all the suffering worth? Only he who succeeded can tell.
Why Should You Avoid Suffering?
To Not Lose Your Human Heart: In the process of bleeding till you are the man of steel, you lose your heart. The feelings of humanity change. Is it right? Why would it be wrong? What do you want?
The Comfort Inside The Herd: Man can not live alone. Why not have the comfort of living perfectly in harmony with others? Fewer arguments, less loneliness?
To Not Suffer: A completely fair reason to avoid suffering is to not suffer. If you can avoid it, why suffer? No one has command over suffering. But you can make suffering less. You have the option, won’t you do it?
Another Greater Way Of Life: Not everyone can do this, but some can bring change with love. Love that’s lost from humanity. This can drive more and more people who are suffering to a more comfortable place. Again, not everyone can do this.
Do You Wrestle Pain Or Let It Drown You?
If you want to suffer less, be a fool, and live an ignorant life. That’s how you truly drive the suffering away. And for most people, that’s the way to live. And I Recommend that!
But if you wish to suffer, you are in for the ride. You live to bleed. To you, fleeing from suffering is the act of dodging life itself. You choose to mock “The Herd’s Delusion” and stare at pain right in the core.
Who are you? Are you a coward? Are you an Übermensch? Is one better than another? You decide your values. Be truthful. The path will be clear.
